Anti-Bullying Week: Website based in the U.K. provides resources for anti-bullying week. This week is scheduled for November 19-23, 2012 in the U.K.

National Bullying Prevention Month: Initiated as a bullying prevention day in 2006 by PACER, this effort is now a month-long event held annually in October of each year.  PACER offers several toolkits to assist educators with this effort. Some national dates associated with this effort:

· October 6, 2012, provides the opportunity to Run, Walk, Roll against bullying to begin bullying month.
· October 10, 2012 will be Unity Day where persons are encouraged to wear orange to demonstrate unity against bullying. 

Black-out Bullying Day: Held the last Wednesday of January. Students encouraged to dress in black representing the need to eliminate bullying. A YouTube video from a Boys and Girls club shows how the event was held at that location. This event is sometimes held in connection with No Name Calling Day. Apparently initiated by the Governor’s Office in Massachusetts, the event is being celebrated at other locations: Indiana, Virginia and Wyoming.

Day of Silence: The Day of Silence is a student-led day of action when concerned students, from middle school through college, take a vow of silence to address the problem of anti-LGBT bullying and harassment. The 18th Annual Day of Silence will be held on April 19, 2013.

Mix It Up: Started in 2006, this is a program of Teaching Tolerance. It is a nationwide campaign for students who want to cross the social boundaries that separate them from each other. The campaign is appropriate for elementary and middle school students. Free resources are available for using the program in a local school.

National Stop Bullying Day, Week and Month: This initiative uses the slogan, “Hey Ugly!” Ugly is an acronym for Unique, Gifted, Lovable You! Provides a plan where a school goes through a series of events beginning in September leading up to national bullying events in October. Website shows pictures from previous events. Anti-bullying t-shirts and wrist bands are available for sale on the website.

National GSA Day: Gay-Straight Alliances (GSAs) work to make their campuses safe places for all students regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity. GSA Day is a day to celebrate the courage of those students and faculty who start these important groups on their school campuses. This event is scheduled for February 6, 2013.

No Name Calling Week: Held at the end of January. Website has several resources available to help with planning.
