Current and Potential Practices in Athletic Training
Guest Editor and Project Coordinator:
Rebecca Hess PhD
Health care is a dynamic profession that requires current application of specific, specialized knowledge. Certifying
and licensing associations facilitate such application by requiring continuing education from their practicing
clinicians and educators. As health care professionals, certified athletic trainers have become increasingly
interested in evaluating their professional practice with more emphasis on evidence-based practice and research. These
student papers address Current and Potential Practices in Athletic Training and hopefully demonstrate the
need for continued education and sharing among a variety of clinicians and educators, all equally interested in
quality health care.
